Over the past year since our book launched, I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with many Old Breed General readers in person and and online.
I’m thrilled to hear that they enjoyed learning about our grandfather and the Pacific in WWII. And we are honored we got to share this important history that is now available in hardcover, e-book and audiobook.
Many readers now have a strong desire for even more information about our grandfather, General Rupertus.
Due to our decision to drop the reader into the narrative in August 1942 and the tight word count requirement set by our publisher, Don and I had to omit significant valuable content we both wanted to include.
Ahh, the life of authors.
Readers have asked for more information specifically on General Rupertus’ remarkable journey from an enlisted man to a Marine Corps major general, more detail on his experiences before World War I in Haiti and China, and additional communications from leaders in the Pacific, including insights on the battle of Peleliu.
I understand the passion of history enthusiasts and want to fulfill their longing for more information.
